If you’ve ever found the OSD locked out or off on your LG monitor, you may be worried that you’ve accidentally changed the settings. The good news is that you can unlock the OSD from any monitor you own by holding down the menu or source button for 10 seconds. In some cases, it may also require a reboot, so you should always restart your computer after changing your monitor’s OSD lock settings.

If you have an LG monitor with an On-Screen Display, you’ll notice that this panel has a button labeled OSD lock. You can use this feature to prevent accidental changes to the display settings while booting the monitor. Depending on your monitor, this button may be located at the bottom of the monitor. You need to press the joystick button for 5 seconds to unlock it. Then, you’ll see a message that says, “OSD Unlock.”

Disabling OSD Lock

If you’ve had trouble with your LG monitor’s OSD lock, you may want to enable it to restore control. You need to unlock the OSD menu or turn off the monitor to do so. You can unlock the OSD by holding the left or right buttons for 10 seconds or holding the Menu button for 5 seconds. This method is most likely the easiest way to unlock the OSD.

Press the Menu button and wait for a few seconds to disable the lock. Press the Menu button again. You will then be prompted to select an option to unlock or lock the OSD menu. You can then select the desired option. If you use the monitor while watching a movie, you can also select the movie mode. This mode will adjust the image according to the environment. You can save the selected mode and restore it in another environment. To enable the ad mode, select the ACE or RCM settings.

Timeout

You can unlock the OSD of your LG monitor by holding the Menu button for about 10 to 20 seconds and then turning off the monitor. After that, you can push down the locking rib and unlock the stand base. Once you have unlocked the stand base, the OSD menu will be displayed once again. If you want to use the OSD to adjust the settings of your monitor, you can turn it off and back on.

If you want to disable the OSD menu, you can set the monitor’s timeout. Using this feature will prevent the OSD menu from accidentally being pressed. Some monitors may differ in this step, so consult your monitor’s manual. However, you should try this method if you experience a similar issue. This may require repair.
